Straight is the lowest-maintenance texture: sleek between washes, the least tangling of any pattern, and the best match for silk-press wearers. 8A is full through the mid lengths, slightly less dense at the longest lengths than 9A/10A.
Lengths run 10" and up in natural black, priced by length from $32 a bundle. Most full sew-ins use 3 bundles up to 18", 4 for 20" and longer. One bundle covers a ponytail or partial install.
Cuticles stay aligned in one direction so shedding stays minimal. Can be colored by a professional, though lifting natural black to blonde takes more than one session.
Care: detangle before washing, wash in lukewarm water, condition 5 minutes and rinse. Pat dry, brush from the ends up. Skip heavy mousses, gels, and hairsprays — they cause buildup on raw hair.
